Cuban Food Pop-ups

Ever since I started cooking in Scotland, I always wanted to make Cuban food that was as affordable as possible and as high quality as possible. Other than creating the supper club, I also set out to collaborate with venues and cafes interested on having a pop-up Cuban kitchen for a day. This way, I achieved my goal to share the Cuban cuisine closer to my heart with more people. Simple, full of flavour, committed to quality, and comprising dishes that I love to eat all the time either for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Tropical tubers papitas (chips).

Thanks to friend business owners from different corners of the city such as La Bodega, CoCoBana and Revival Cafe, I have offered authentic street food and other comfort food dishes. I crafted what I think it was the first Medianoche sandwich in the UK at that moment. This is a close version to a Cuban sandwich with roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, gherkins and mustard on a hot pressed sweet bread. And we celebrated the first ever Cuban Sandwich Day in the UK, last 23rd August, where I made Cuban bread at a pop-up for the first time.

I have also spread the joy of eating all the amazing snacks of Cuban food like plantain chips, maduros fritos, yuca fries, and also guava juice, trigo and papaya milkshake, completas and many more!

Check out below the next pop-up at Phillies of Shawlands, popular bar in the Southside of Glasgow. I do not always have a ticketed pop-up, but in this case we believe it’s the best way to ensure you are booked for this night and for us to prepare better the event. There will be a surprise related to our new image for the pop-ups!
