After years of not finding proper Cuban food in Glasgow, I started cooking for myself and eventually doing pop-ups to share my food with others. These were are small events hosted at different cafes of the kind people of Glasgow.
The Supper Club is another experience that I created to keep sharing Cuban food with more people, in the form of a family dinner. I aim to recreate a homely ambience, where you can not only try real Cuban cuisine in Glasgow, but also to enjoy of a different experience to a conventional restaurant.
You will learn about the traditional dishes I offer and the stories behind them, based on my personal experiences and the popular culture of my country, Cuba.

We have celebrated up to five different supper clubs in Glasgow Southside, the West End, City Centre and East End. We offered home-made Cuban food, with ingredients as close as possible to the original ingredients of traditional Cuban cuisine.
At most of the events celebrated, dinner was served at a large table where everyone ate together. This feature aims to match the homely feeling of dinners at Cuban homes. However, we are constantly striving to improve and listening to our guests feedback, so this layout, as well as times and menus could vary in the future. Decoration, music and ambience are details I try to pick in function of the occasion.

I try to use local quality ingredients as much as possible, specially from producers that are close to me or to the venue. I also aim for organic ingredients and products when available, and I try to match them as close as possible to those you would find in traditional Cuban cuisine.
Moreover, I love to make things from scratch. For example, I would make my own syrups when preparing cocktails, or my own garlic mayo and Cuban mojo sauce to drench over delicious plantain tostones and yuca. Canned beans or easy cook rice ar out of the question! You will always taste comfort food made without shortcuts, as it should be!
Check out below our current menu for two dates at Cafe Gandolfi (21st and 27th March 2026).
I love using traditional Cuban cooking methods such as slow cooking, marinating meats for hours and braising. Most times I will also make traditional Cuban desserts from scratch. Think about Flan or Arroz con Leche, for instance.
Oh, I can’t forget to mention that I usually offer a welcome cocktail. This will always be a Cuban classic, made according to adequate mixology techniques and respecting the rich Cuban cocktail history and the legacy of the Cantineros (Cuban bartenders). Some of these cocktails are El Presidente, Canchánchara and Daiquiri.

In general, I strive to improve every time, and keep true to my goal of sharing authentic food from Cuba while enjoying a warm ambience in great company here in Scotland.
You can’t make it to the coming supper club? No worries. If you are interested in attending, leave it to me and I will keep you updated.
