Fried hand-sliced potato crisps, seasoned with Sazón Completo.

Starter

Cuban bread and Pasta de Bocadito de Sobrasada

Toasted Cuban lard bread with spread of red pepper, Majorcan IGP sobrasada (a special spreadable cured meat) and cream cheese.

Main (choose one)

Alubias con Compango

Hearty dish of white beans inspired by “Fabada Asturiana”, with compango (panceta, chorizo, ham and morcilla), potato, butternut squash and an intense pimentón (sweet smoked paprika) flavour. Served with Cuban bread on the side for dipping or white rice.

Arroz con Pollo

Valencia short grain yellow rice cooked with Cuban tomato sofrito, achiote powder and baked with bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs, asparagus and a splash of Glaswegian lager. Garnished with roasted red peppers and garden peas.

Dessert (choose one)

Natilla

Traditional Cuban custard, flavoured with vanilla beans, lime peel, cassia cinnamon stick and garnished with one Maria biscuit and ground cinnamon. Served cold or warmed up.

Flan

The quintessential dessert, smooth and creamy with balanced sweetness. Topped with caramel sauce and Maria crumble.

Cocktails, wines and other liquors will be available to purchase from Bar Gandolfi. For suggestions to pair with each dish ask the bar team.

Due to the traditional dishes on this menu, it is not possible to make vegetarian alternatives or substitutions for the whole menu.

Notes:
We will try to accommodate the furniture in the venue as one or two large tables. This is the format preferred in the supper clubs and crucial part for people to enjoy the meal as we have it planned.

All in all, we will keep the familiar atmosphere and you will be able to chat to other guests and your host.

-> Some less known ingredients:
– Sazon Completo is a powder seasoning very popular in Latin countries, usually containing salt and ground spices.

– Achiote is a powder from the annato seeds, used interchangeably in Cuban cooking for saffron, to give yellow colour and flavour to dishes, specially rice.

– Morcilla is a type of blood sausage or black pudding very characteristic of Spanish cuisine. There are different types and this one holds up shape to cooking at high temperatures.

– Flan is the Cuban creamy version of a the creme caramel, made with eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream and sugar caramel sauce.
